Blue River again!

I have been reading Waiter Rant since I seem to be a disgruntled realistic restaurant employee and another server with a similar attitude loaned me the book. Now I am hooked on the blog as well. Turns out he is a waiter, dog owner, and blogger. Sounds god to me. The author is now a published writer and a decade older than me though.

Yesterday, we took Moj's mom to Breckenridge for the day. Of course the Blue was awesome to fish. All dries, all day. Tons of fish make me very happy. There is so much water here in Colorado and not enough time.

Red fox at night, cyclists delight.

I just got back from a leg smashing ride. Coach Mark prescribes just the right amount of hurt each time. Anyone that wants to be faster, have someone to hold them accountable, or not think about what their training should check him out here.
Riding out to the hurt zone, there were deer walking beside the road. On "what excuse can I come up with to be finished now" hill repeat number one there was an adult magpie feeding a juvenile magpie something rotting on the side of the road. It was cute. At the end of the workout, there was a fox trying to get in on the rotten carcass action. The birds were circling overhead squawking trying to get the  fox to leave their meal alone.
It was a great ride and I look forward to the rest of the weeks workouts!

Fly Fishing for lake species.

Yesterday, we headed to Coot Lake to try and suppress my "run off blues". The "run off blues" occur when the rivers are too high to fish and there is nothing to do but sit and wait for the river levels to recede. Jay (links to his YouTube channel) from Front Range Anglers is putting on fun competitions to get trout people like myself out fishing in lakes and ponds. We caught more of these bluegill than we could count. I was able to stalk to carp which was much more exciting than I thought that it would be. It is always fun to go fishing and for the first time, we actually caught fish in a lake. Of course it felt good that we were using flies that I had tied.
