Leaving Tuesday.

I participated in the Duke's Mile Swim on Saturday morning. I swam it in 33:34. 2 minutes slower than last year. Maybe it's because I wasn't feeling as much pressure. This year, I didn't pay the entry fee. I did miss out on a Duke's Oceanfest t-shirt, but I helped myself to athlete only refreshments after the race. A few Duke's employees participated in the race, and some of them almost caught me. Well the only one that was close was a middle age water woman, Gloria. She swims or surfs everyday and is a really fun person to hang out with. I would have placed 11th in my age group, but I was annihilated by many 15 year old girls from local high schools. I think that I would have been about 90th out of about 300. Maybe I will swim a lot in California.
I am very excited to be leaving for California Tuesday. I finally get to see my Dad. Today was a great day, Matt, Joe, Brenna, Jeff, Wen and I went to brunch at the Kahala Hotel. Then I finished packing and moving. Clint and Jeff took us out on their boat to watch a beautiful sunset. Hopefully I will put up pictures here soon (as soon as Clint sends them to me).
The Nui Kai won in a short but fierce battle of man vs. tube. while on the boat. I will have my day. Jeff put me in a straight jacket and then let the Nui Kai loose on me. Of course, we must also remember that I went into Nui Kai territory. Had this fight been on land, I would have dominated!

Ben and bags.

I am surprised that a hefty American like Ben Collins can do as well as he does in the sport of triathlon. He must have learned a lot from me here in Hawai'i. Also, some of you may not know what a great actor he is. Luckily, I can show you all...

I am trying to find out where to get cheap cloth bags. You know like the kind they sell in Whole Foods that people are going nuts for. I want every retailer in the state to sell them eventually, people will have a dozen and they will start bringing them shopping with them.

New Plans

Sorry to all of my fans that have been missing my blog posts. Unfortunately, it is because there are some things going on in my life that are making me sad. My Dad and I will be living in California for a couple of months where we will be getting rid of a Stage III N1 T3 Squamous Carcinoma. My friend Jay 211 is also having some trouble and we are praying for him everyday. The last sad thing on my mind is the friends and family of Karl Chambers. I am sorry for them. It was really put into perspective for my by my friend Kurt.
My life is being put into a funny place, but I am surrounded by good people with great attitudes towards life. I realize that life is what you make of it. My Dad has one of the best attitudes and he is helping me stay calm and live my life one day at a time. Kurt and his analytical ways are also really helping me think about life.
That all being said, I am still going on the around the world trip with Danielle. We will be in Bangkok for November. Then it is off to Beijing for the first week of December. Because I hate warm weather, we will be in Europe for December and January. February will be experienced in Brasilia. March is for Chile, throw a week in Peru, then we are off to Colorado for 10 days. We skip Hawai'i and head to New Zealand, then Australia.
I will try and update with more rants, useless facts about my day to day activities, and postive moments of Zen for you all. One love.
