New York, Day 3.

I tried to get a new job. I will wait by the phone for them to call.
I tried to sell my soul for free product.
 South street something or other.
Brasserie for restaurant week. Enough fancy dinners for the rest of the year.
All I can hope for is the opportunity to visit the Jersey Shore. Every time I see a sign for New Jersey, I fist pump like a champion. Sometimes the you gotta fight the beat.

New York, Day 2.

Day 2. "Chicago" at night. Empire State Building and Central Park during the day. The building was more impressive from the outside. I don't think that it was worth the twenty bucks to take the elevator from the top.
It was snowing when we woke up this morning. We walked to Central Park where people were making snowmen. It was cold today, but not too cold to enjoy the city.

"The Pond" in Central Park.

Empire State Building from the top.
Mona, Moj, and Amy after dinner at Good Burger. I don't think that Good Burger is participating in restaurant week, but tomorrow we will take advantage of those good deals again.
Chicago was great. And that is right, none other than Ashley Simpson-Wentz was one of the main characters. I had no idea that she had a couple of albums out and had been on TV. Good night!

New York, Day 1.

I wasn't sure if I should describe these pictures as they seem pretty self explanatory. Well, the first pictures is a lady carrying her cat around the city. The cat had a puffy jacket and a leash. She was speaking a foreign language and I was too intimidated to ask if I could actually take a picture of her. I just snuck this one.
We saw Mamma Mia tonight after dinner at Maloney and Porcelli. It was night one of restaurant week. Gyros for lunch off a cart were delicious. I love street food.

Lots of info.

We took Lando for a walk this morning. I made deviled eggs for the first time ever. They are kind of like my cheesecake. Not pretty, but very edible. Life is great!

Like Jay-Z

What do the U.N., Donald Trump, and I have in common? We will all be in New York next week. Moj and I have been trying to plan what we want to do for our week on the East Coast. Looks like we will be eating a lot since we will be there during restaurant week. I will bring my running gear to run in Central Park. I practiced by running in South Boulder this morning. Time to take Lando for a walk!

Just found out that the YMCA offers a masters class that is called something else. We went last night and it was great. Just over 2k kicked my butt. Between the breathing every 3, 5, or 7 strokes and the head up swimming, it felt close to water boarding. If I had any information, I would have easily given it up. Now we just wait to hear back from our financial assistance application to see how much we have to pay when we join. I will be buying a new Splish suit now that they are super cheap! Splish.com

Boats and cakes.

It seems like it has been a busy week. I worked at The Denver Boat Show. Wakeboarding boats over $100,000! What recession? These people aren't donating that much to Haiti. But neither am I. I am closer to the food vs. rent dilemma. Luckily for me, even the YMCA has financial assistance. Speaking of which, I finally feel like I am learning how to swim again. I put in over 2k in the pool this afternoon. My legs are beat up from running, testing my new cycling kit (thanks Rudy Project!) on the trainer and then playing indoor soccer yesterday. It feels good.

I was having a discussion about negative people today and mentioned that I love my life. I wouldn't have it any other way. Why bother?
I made a cheesecake yesterday. I will try it tomorrow. I had too much batter and made little cheesecake bites in my muffin pan. This is so much better than living in a van. I even made the sour cream topping myself. This KitchenAid mixer is going to help negate my training.

Not the greatest day.

Man I knew this would happen. I have been meaning to send in my broken fly rod, but at the Fly Fishing Show last weekend, Moj worked and let me do a bit of shopping. I got a new 3 weight rod with an Orvis reel, a fanny pack, and some flies from The Allen Brothers.

I drove to South Boulder creek tailwater this morning. I was not sure if I should fish at all or do important normal life things (work, laundry, etc.). Decided that the weather was too nice and I should probably just get a couple hours on the water. I mean I haven't caught a fish the last two times I went out. I need a fix. So my alcoholic neighbor is sauntering home from the supermarket, and maybe the liquor store at about 9 this morning and I told him I was going fishing. He wanted to join me so we drove the 45 minutes together to the river. We get there and there are no cars in the lot. Score. Lando is bounding down the trail as happy as can be and it is colder than it is supposed to be. The creek has snow and ice on both sides and the hole where I pulled a 13 inch rainbow out of last week is empty and barely moving. There is ice everywhere so we decide to call it a day. Maybe we can hit Eben G. Fine back in town. On the way out while going over the windy dirt road I get a flat tire. Cranking the jack up, I drag my knuckles on the ground. Dirty, cold, and now bleeding we finally fix the tire and limp home. I drop off my neighbor, eat lunch, and take Lando to Discount Tire. Not my first choice due to online reviews, but apparently the only place that stocks the model of tire snow tire that I currently have. We wait around for an hour while they charge me a hundred bucks for a new tire that will supposedly ruin my drivetrain unless I buy four new ones. I will take the risk as the other three are pretty much new. When that is finished, I take Lando to the Humane Society to get four shots. He wasn't too thrilled. At least by the time I got home, I was able to do some laundry...
The weather was nice, I got outside, and things can always be worse.

Denver Merchandise Mart.

Come find me at the Fly Fishing Show in Denver tomorrow. I will be working and wishing that I was browsing. I broke the tip of my rod while fishing in below freezing temperatures. TFO claims to have a lifetime no-fault warranty, so I will be sending my rod back to them soon. I hope it is as seamless at Rudy Project's. Ed and I went out to Cheesman Canyon this week and saw lots of fish. They were all in the river. Swimming, eating, playing, and having nothing to do with us. Moj and I headed to the tailwater of Gross Reservoir and I caught one fish. Everyone said to use midges, but I went with a big purple prince nymph. It was fun until it started snowing. Then we called it a day. Lando seemed to enjoy it as well.
