The City of Angels.

Yesterday, I got a good surf in out at Diamond Head. This morning, my Dad is projectile vomiting in my bathroom. Such is the life that I have chosen. We drove to the hospital, came back to the apartment, Dad vomits in my bathroom again. (He has his own bathroom by the way). And then he mentions casually, "Maybe we should get those sterile wipes that come in a plastic carton for your bathroom." Thanks Dad.
I was picked up at the airport by my old friend Kevin, our driver. He remembered me and told me old stories about his truck driving days. Well, I think that is what he was say, I had my iPod in and was texting at the same time. I don't like to be away from technology for more than a couple hours and the 5 hour flight nearly drove me insane. Luckily, I was served a delicious chicken pesto something or other that kept me occupied for about 7 minutes.

I feel like a complete hypocrite. I am running a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, and air conditioning all at the same time. It is a comfortable 73 degrees in my living room. I am only wearing boardshorts. I was at the pool earlier where it was 102 degrees. I was sweating instantly. There was no one around so I will be in speedos out by the pool soon. This whole complex is like a maze. Luckily, there is a market below us, so I will never be out of food. I have already found the organic and natural food section. I can see a coffee chop/bakery/deli from my window but I don't know how to get there. Now I know why everyone here just drives. I will try my best not to drive everywhere. There is a park nearby so hopefully I can go running without inhaling this brown air.
To keep myself occupied while my Dad sleeps (most of the time) I will go and shave my facial hair, read Ben's blog, and look for a video editing class nearby. I will post pictures of my surroundings soon...

Let me know if you actually see an angel. I'm thinking the smog killed them all, or at least made them look unlike angels. I mean if you saw a dude with brown wings in a stained old white tux, coughing from gas fumes you wouldn't really think he was an angel would you? You might think that person was evil, or just a homeless dude with dirty wings. Like Matt Damon at the end of Dogma. Maybe that's why Santa Monica is good to the homeless.

Tell your dad to feel better.

I like Ben's comments. They make me laugh.
